About our founder & us

Our founder, Mel Mardon, has a passion for people that shines through in her authenticity and the love she exudes to both young and the aged.

She is the co-coordinator of the Mental Health Professionals Network Blacktown and an active member of several other mental health professional networks in Sydney, Australian and New Zealand Mental Health Association and the Australian Counselling Association, as well as the Association of Modern Applied Psychology. In addition, Mel is a registered NDIS Behaviour Support provider.

A personal message from Mel:

 "Thank you for visiting our website. The name Angel House was chosen by my two eldest sons, Brendon and Zandré a good few years back.  Now they are my two angels in heaven as Zandré was murdered at age 19 and barely a year later Brendon died in a culpable homicide case at age 22.

I have been working as a mental health professional, cognitive behavioral therapist, life coach and equine assisted psychotherapist  in South Africa and with online and telehealth clients locally and internationally for the past twenty three years. Following great personal trauma and adversity, I moved to Australia in 2017 to give my youngest and only remaining son a new chapter to life.  I furthered my studies and skill set to include dementia care, child psychology and mental well-being in children, in addition to finally publishing my first two books.  I am passionate about people, their healing and empowering the youth and adults to reach their highest personal potential regardless of the challenges life may present and have been working with children, adolescents, teens, adults and the aged from diverse backgrounds and cultures for the past twenty four years. I am supportive of gender and sexual equality and orientation, believing every person deserves respect, love and acknowledgement. Finally, with me you will find everything except judgment regardless or despite your background." 

Our Director of animal behaviour supports is passionate about animals and especially horses.  As such is an assistant racehorse trainer who dedicates his spare time to the Angel House Australia Foundation.

Equine (horse) assisted therapy has proven to present major successes in various fields, such as disability, mental health and improving behaviours in individuals.  Aside from the EAP Program presented by Angel House  Australia Foundation (equine assisted psychotherapy), Dewalt makes it possible for clients/participants to visit and interact with the horses that he trains at Rosehill Gardens .

He is a compassionate man, who experienced the traumas of Brendon and Zandré's untimely deaths after having helped Mel raise them from ages 5 and 7.  He is additionally father to Mel's 13-year-old son and actively incorporates his vast knowledge and skills with horses to advise and assist in the work performed by Angel House Australia Foundation to improve the lives of clients/participants.

His easy-going nature ensures that he is loved by the children, youths and adults that we are privileged to work with and his ability to motivate young and old to achieve their self-identified goals is remarkable.  He is passionate about bringing out the best in all individuals whom he encounters through his generosity, honesty and truthful insights.

Originally from South Africa, Dewalt started his career at the young age of 16 and has been riding and working with horses ever since. Well travelled and experienced he is certainly a great asset to the Angel House Australia Foundation Ltd team.

Our Director of Finance, Property and Taxation, Vik Naidu, is an expert in the fields of financial management, property and taxation.  He is certainly a great asset to the Angel House Australia Foundation Ltd team.

In addition, Vik is also a director of the highly successful Oysterhub Accounting and Taxation firm who takes care of all our accounting and taxation needs and he provides the Angel House Australia Foundation Ltd management with valuable guidance and direction in terms of managing our finances and bringing out the best in service presentation and delivery to attain our goals and that of our clients/participants.

Highly successful, he ensures to manage his time to dedicate part thereof to the Angel House Australia Foundation as his vision is to encourage a strong foundation to establish and ensure the overall well-being of children, adolescents and teens which are are the core of the Angel House Australia Foundation's motivation.

Vik's enthusiasm, honestly and open nature encourages positivity and an eagerness to attain short-, medium- and long term goals for both ourselves and our clients/participants.

 Oyster Hub is an Accounting, Broking and Consulting Firm servicing the needs of its clients throughout Australia. The Angel House Australia Foundation Ltd team is very blessed to have Vik, who is one of their directors, on board to guide our non-profit organisation to success.
